Title: Welsh Bridge Webcam
Description: New webcam
Proud Salopian - December 4, 2006 12:22 PM (GMT)
Shrewsbury and Atcham Borough Council/Morris Company have begun to air a new webcam which looks over the Welsh Bridge towards Frankwell.

An interesting view, it updates every minute at 23 seconds by the look of it. Must go down there and wave. For checking river levels, I find that the amount of water covering the path on the Frankwell side of the river is a good rough guide to the progress of a period of high flow, and that's difficult to see on this view. However, I realise that the riverside path is probably not all that exciting a view!

Excellent! Now even lovely Shrewsbury has a webcam :)
Looking a bit gloomy back home though...

Seems to be refreshing every 60 seconds now.

Nice Christmas lights... I keep forgetting to go into our city centre to see ours... I will soon... Plus I really should go on the outdoor skating rink...

Many of Shrewsbury's bridges are lit up at night all year round - Porthill Bridge was the last time I saw it at night. At Christmas all the main bridges are illuminated one way or another.

Shame really that Greyfriars Bridge is still mostly in darkness, with the swollen muddy depths of the river swirling about below.
