Hi P.Portela - I'd be very interested to know why you want to move to Shrewsbury. Do you know Shrewsbury already? Have you been there before?
The English love Spain. As Avronb said, many British people have holidays in Spain, and also many choose to go to live in Spain.

Although I don't think there are many (if any) Spanish living or working in Shrewsbury, I'm sure you'd be welcome here. :)
The English don't have anything against the Spanish and as avronb and Cloudscape have said we do go on holiday to Spain in huge numbers.
Why Shrewsbury though? I know it's a great place to live, but why this town out of so many great places in England? Have you been offered a job here?

I´ll go to work in a hotel in Shrewsbury. I´ll arrive next monday, 20 of November.
The hotel is the Prince Rupert.
Waht do you think about that hotel???
I like very much England and I wont go to Shrewsbury because i thin that is a beautiful city, very tipical English.
Now i only need speak and write a very good english :D

Prince Rupert is one of Shrewsbury's main hotels, located in the historic heart of the town.
Your English will be far far better than any of our Spanish!!

There's a few Spanish working at the Rupert I believe. I also met a Spaniard at my son's 4th birthday party (he was a dad). Shame there's no tapas bar though.

Hola P.Portela. Me da alegría que vienen más españoles a Shrewsbury. Espero que te guste.
There is a Spanish social group in Shrewsbury - the name of which escapes me. It is run by Spaniards and English who have an interest in Spanish and I really must join. I am very interested in meeting any Spaniards who live in Shrewsbury. I'm fluent in the language but desperately need practice. I bring a group of 20 students here in the summer from Navarra for 3 weeks each year.

Yes, come to Shrewsbury. There are not huge numbers of Spanish here but i've met a few. The Prince Rupert is in the centre of town, it's one of the most expensive hotels in town but it could do with some money being spent on the rooms in my opinion, they look a bit tired.
You're not coming at the best time of year though, it gets dark at 16:00 and the weather is horrible, don't let it depress you though, Shrewsbury is a nice town and the surrounding countryside is very pretty. If you are still here next summer, you will see it at its best.
Do you know where you are going to live yet?
