Title: Town Wardens

Ant SPCS - November 6, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
Was amused to see a gentleman of retirement age stop a young women on Pride Hill the other day. She had a push-chair and he was advising her on not hurrying with it incase she hurt someone or the baby. It looked like she might tell him to stick the pram somewhere.

Anyway, the guy was dressed just like a zoo keeper all in green including a little green peeked hat. His uniform said Town Warden. Does anyone know anything about this?

How many are there? I think there may actually be only one?

I think that there are going to be about 16 once the council takes control over traffic violations.

very cheap

16 - 18000 pounds per annum is probably not quite a policeman's wage.

Shrewsbury town wardens needed, only Victor Meldrews to apply!!

Reminds me of when I was in Beatties in Solihull 17 odd years ago with my eldest son in a pushchair/pram and a 'posh' old geezer said I should be ashamed of myself taking him out that late at night (it was about 7pm 'cos I was Xmas shopping)when he should be tucked up in his cot at home!!!

I'm paying the price now s.q.d. I asked the very same son now 17 to do some sweeping outside (he's at 6th form but tends to be at home a lot..... usually eating!) and I later found him watching a 'Touch of Frost,' no sweeping done needless to say. <_<

I should have listened to those wise old words!!! :D :D :D

Town Wardens and new traffic wardens will be taking to the streets of Shrewsbury from next week. I hope they sort the rougue parkers up Claremont Hill
