Title: 19th-century Shrewsbury-area Pubs
Description: Shrewsbury the Famous Pub Town
Vince Walsh - October 2, 2006 12:46 AM (GMT)
I am searching the source(s) of a saying that in the nineteenth century, one could walk from the center of Shrewsbury every day for a year, using different roads, and wind up in a different pub every day.
Any ideas about how many pubs are within walking distance of the center of modern day Shrewsbury -- assuming one does not have to care about the safety of walking along today's roads?
Does anyone know of a list of the names (and locations, where out of the Town) of early 19th-century pubs in the Shrewsbury area?
