The route from the bottom of Castle Gates to the bottom of Wyle Cop (Castle Gates-Castle Street-St Mary's Street-Dogpole-Wyle Cop) is set to be transformed by a scheme of improvements to both the road and pavements by the County Council.
Plans are on display at the bottom of the Darwin Shopping Centre.
Looks good though. :)
Yes, I went to have a look at the plans on Saturday, it looks generally good. The changes should mean that the bus lane actually works and the pavements and roads get a much needed makeover. A couple of on street parking spaces are going to be lost but that's a small price to pay.
The guy from the council told me they're going to use granite kerb blocks because they are less brittle than the ones used on high street and shouldn't crack when hit by buses and lorries.

What, you mean like pedestrians do? :(
