Title: Help - Where To Move To??
gamgam - August 16, 2006 02:40 PM (GMT)
Hi everyone - I'm new to the forum.
I'm soon to be relocating to Shrewsbury from the north east and am currently looking for a new pad for my family (fab wife and 9 month old son!!).
After a frenzied weekend house hunting the best one seemed to be on Woodcote Way, Monkmoor (just down from the police station).
I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the area or could sugest any other places worth looking?? Cheers

Except for the houses near the shops (middle of moneybrook way and maesbrook) and mary webb road because of the high levels of chav activity.

Welcome to Shrewsbury gamgam,
I hope you find something suitable, I'm not too sure of the area around Woodcote Way but in general Monkmoor is not bad.

Welcome to monkmoor. the area you have picked is "chav" free and pretty quite the only thing that will startle you is the police & ambulance sirens as this is the main route to north & west shrewsbury.I have now lived on this road for 16yrs and they still make me jump but that is about the only excercise I get now(lol)

yeah - we clocked the police station and thought it may be a little lively!!
Whats the local pubs etc (The Monkmoor?) like?

hello
the Monkmoor is a typical local pub, open plan with comfy seating.
the only problem is the fact that they are hoping to get planning permission to knock it down and build housing on the site.
I am sure that you will enjoy Shrewsbury, any more questons please ask.

The pub down the other end of Monkmoor Road (The Abbey?) is quite nice to take the family to.
