We'll take law into own hands - residents

Residents living in one area of Shrewsbury are threatening to take the law into their own hands if police do not clamp down on anti-social behaviour which they claim is ruining their lives.

The Moston Road area of Sundorne has been blighted by problems including fights and damage to property.

And the problems have been so bad that Arriva Buses threatened to scrap services in the area amid fears for drivers' safety.

Now Councillor Danny Moore, borough member for the ward, said residents want talks with police to solve the problem.

He said they claimed they would hit back if police were not seen to be doing anything.

Councillor Moore said: "Quite a large number of residents turned up at a surgery on Sunday morning demanding that a public meeting is held with the police regarding anti-social behaviour in the area.

I live about half a mile from this part of Sundorne and it has a reputation for being a rough area with a lot of anti-social behaviour and crime. Have the police given up?

Blimey, I thought the area was getting better!

Its been a while since I went into any of the shops on Moston Road, I thought there where plans to demolish the shops and replace then with new units.

Thing is, most of Sundorne is a peaceful suburb, but then there's Moston Road in the middle which seems to end up being a small war zone every now and again! :o
