Title: Music Tastes

What are they? - For me, it's mainly rock -from 60's to present. Two of my favourite groups are The Who and Iron Maiden. I'm also into some punk and some classical - especially Elgar and Holst.

I've never been able to take to dance music of any shape or form - the worst, being 'hardcore' rave -which unfortunately my two eldest kids are into.

According to this website, your "life's theme" is the song which was Number 1 on your 18th birthday.

This day in Music

Since my 18th birthday was in summer 1995, I had hoped my "life's theme" would be by Blur, Pulp or similar, but instead it turned out to be "Unchained Melody" by Robson & Jerome.

I tried the "This Day in Music". I turned 18 in 1977. Here in the States...Debby Boone--You Light Up My Life. Simply awful. In the UK, David Soul--Silver Lady. Never heard of it, but if it's David Soul, it's got to be lame.

Can't stand most dance music or hard-core rap. Like almost anything else. Listen to mostly "classic rock" or alternative. Favorites include...Beatles, Stones, Police, Gipsy Kings, Dire Straits, Springsteen, Mana (Mexico).

Siver Lady was very cheesey.

try going for the day that you were born,it is hopefully more influential.

I'm a big fan of rock music, and can't stand anything like pop, rap, hip hop, dance, etc.

My favourite band by a long way are R.E.M., who everyone seems to mistake for being a band who do depressingly sad songs, when they've done about... one... (and technically it isn't sad or depressing if you know what it's really about)... I'm also a big fan of Queen, ELO, Nightwish, Madness, Iron Maiden (who I am going to see live in December), Feeder, Idlewild, U2... The list goes on, but you get the idea.

I'm also particularly fond of seeing said bands live, especially R.E.M.

One of of best gigs that I've been to was Guns n Roses at Donnington (now download) rock fest.
Very loud, crammed and dangerous - Brilliant!

*First post - do I get a shiny membership card?*

I'll listen to any type of rock, ranging from Pink Floyd to Dragonforce to Bon Jovi to Disturbed to Sonata Arctica to Andrew WK.

I draw the line at death metal though, and you'll never catch me listening to rap (other than Weird Al Yankovic's parodies)
