Title: British Gas Raises Energy Prices

Chris Pritchard - July 27, 2006 09:43 PM (GMT)
British Gas has said it plans to raise gas bills by 12.4% and electricity by 9.4% from September.

It is the fourth inflation-busting increase by British Gas in less than two years and follows a 22% hike in gas and electricity bills by the firm in March.

Whilst the price rise is worrying especially for the elderly or those on a low income, at the same time I hope it makes people think about using less and becoming more energy efficient in the home and workplace.

Build nuclear power stations. Enforce energy efficiency in homes. Done.

My sentiments exactly, this country cant meet its energy requirments in summer, never mind winter, forget the fossil fuels, nuclear is the future, until we invent something better.

Like nuclear fusion? We would have that by now if governments invested in it properly.
