What are they?
Here's mine - in no particular order
Goodfellas
The good, the bad and the ugly (brilliant music too)
Platoon
Star Wars 4-6 ( ok, I know thats three films)
Quadrophenia

Here's mine...I'm sure I missed a few....also, in no particular order
It's A Wonderful Life
Vertigo
Animal Crackers (or any early Marx Brothers pic)
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (I've about memorized it)
Lord of the Rings...Return of the King
That being said...I'm a Hitchcock fanatic. I have all his feature films, save two. One has not been seen since the 50s...so no chance of getting that. The other is "Waltzes From Vienna", a crappy movie from 1934. If anyone knows where I can get a version of that...copy, whatever, I would be greatly indebted to you. The only print I've been able to find on the net is one in FRENCH with no subtitles. Hablo espanol but not French! Plus that version is all chopped up. Thanks

The helicopters flying to Wagner in Apocalypse Now,the bike chase in The Great Escape,The car chase in Bullit and Bob Hoskins with that hard as nails look at the end of Long Good Friday when the IRA were carting him off.

Whistle Down the Wind
My Dog Skip

Mannaquin (true 80's film)

Films that never realy made it big time but are certainly worth watching are 'Enemy At The Gates',a true story of a Russian sniper and a German sniper.

If i see a film with a good sound track i buy it,i hve quite a collection now,John Barry,Helmer Bernstein,Hans Zimmer and many more, take the sound track away and the film would lose a lot of its impact.

Here is a photo I took in February of this year of the site in Essex where the Black Knight scene ("It's merely a flesh wound!" etc.) from Monty Python and the Holy Grail was filmed.

It's also a few hundred yards from the place where the graveyard scene in the last Harry Potter film was done (where Cedric Diggory was murdered, etc).
Of course, as a Guardian reader, all my favourite films have to be in black and white and in French. It is the law.

I see the council have gentrified it by filling in the ditch and putting up a useless and distracting wooden rail thingy!
Was there not even a notice saying the importance of that spot?!

No notice at the spot, I did check it thoroughly! To be fair, it's a bridge over a stream (the Loughton Brook), has very heavy clay soil and is horribly muddy. The whole stream is an SSSI on account of its interesting landforms, so it's probably for the best if people are discouraged from wading in. Probably it is a bit useless, but bless the council's little hearts anyway for the nice thought
I think the Corporation of London, the landowners, are keen on using the whole area for filming. It makes a change from the usual activities that go on in the wood, such as walking, horse-riding, mountain-biking and disposing of the victims of gangland murders.

the dvd has got some good extras on it.
i wish the B.B.C. would bring out Precious Bane, surely there would be a market for it now that Clive Owen is such a big star.i have a bootleg copy but it has no credits on it.
