Dont forget to put plenty of water out for the birds,hedgehogs and other small creatures,they are realy struggling in this drought,i have been putting bread out soaked in water,the sparrows have raised several broods on this,and with no worms available the blackbirds have used this for feeding their young,also hedgehogs like peanuts,better than cat meat that of course attracts cats.

Good point, we have the bird bath topped up with fresh water everyday and food on the table.

If you have a pond at this time of year hedgehogs may use it for drinking, please make sure there is a means for them to escape if they where accidentally to fall in. Sadly we had one a few years ago that fell in and could not get back out although there was an escape.
