There is going to be some great Summer weather today, tomorrow, this weekend, next week... in fact this Summer could be one of the best ever! B)

Anyone got any plans to take advantage of this?

Our lawn is rather scorched, we haven't had rain here for a long time now...

avronb - July 14, 2006 08:34 AM (GMT)
Thats the problem Ching.nothing grows,we have hardly had any rain in S.bury for the last couple of months, apart from a brief thunder storm a few weeks ago.

Chingwakabungya - July 14, 2006 06:42 PM (GMT)
Yeah, same this side of the border.

ChrisBradley - July 15, 2006 09:23 AM (GMT)
Konfabulator weather widget is reporting the same although I am torn about wanting the warm weather.

In one respect I love the summer weather but in another I find it an annoyance especially with the hayfeaver and having to work in a dusty, poorly ventillated office.

Fine, sunny weather forecasted for the next 7 days at least now... :o

Though I suspect thunderstorms will kick off from Wednesday evening and continuing for the second half of next week.

I shall be running the race for life at the west mid showground tomorrow morning :)
Wish me luck as its going to be hard going on such a hot day!

Chris Pritchard - July 15, 2006 05:32 PM (GMT)
Good Luck Shropshirelass, what time does it start?

Shropshirelass - July 15, 2006 05:43 PM (GMT)
It starts at 11.00 am so at least it should be a little cooler

Chris Pritchard - July 15, 2006 05:49 PM (GMT)
Thats not so bad it won't be too hot at that time, I hope it all goes well and let us know how you get on!

Shropshirelass - July 16, 2006 06:32 PM (GMT)
Despite the weather my sister and I managed to finish in about 45 minutes.

It was baking there with very little shade. We ran some and the walked some. The heat was just too much really.
The race started about 30 minutes late as there was a traffic nightmare getting to the showground.

Well worth it though and a nice sum of money raised, so I was really chuffed

Allie

Proud Salopian - July 20, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
Think the heatwave is over?

Nope! Next week will be just as hot, maybe even hotter!! :o

Chris Pritchard - July 20, 2006 07:13 PM (GMT)
Great, I'm acclimatised to this warmer weather now!

avronb - July 20, 2006 09:00 PM (GMT)
Most people who say they love this weather dont have to work in it,I've had enough of sweating my cobs off and not being able to sleep at night, this does not happen on the continent, their working day is early start and finish before the heat kicks in,i was going to take on an allotment this year, but looking at the ones up the road every thing seems to be dying through lack of rain,so i dont think i will bother now, these droughts are becoming more frequent.

Proud Salopian - July 23, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
Lovely weather this evening. :D

shrewbury youth - July 23, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)
during the day i'm getting used to the heat yet trying to get to sleep at night is a true nightmare! Also i really cant eat much in hot weather.

Redsquirrel - July 23, 2006 11:42 PM (GMT)
Yes, it has been a bit hard to nod off in this heat -but I've found it much easier since I brought myself a large fan.
Ahh bliss :D

Chris Pritchard - July 24, 2006 03:09 PM (GMT)
Shropshire weatherman John Warner says the current heatwave could continue until the end of August, the prediction has been made using past forecasts.

Temperatures of 32C/90F are forecast this week with thunder forecast for Wednesday.

Proud Salopian - July 30, 2006 12:16 PM (GMT)
Ye gods - it's raining!! :o

Chris Pritchard - July 30, 2006 12:53 PM (GMT)
I'm glad the gardens need it, I water the pots, baskets and the borders but not the shrubs, so they are in need of a good drink.
