I have just purchased my first widescreen television, before this I had a normal 32" 4:3 TV which I always viewed in 16:9 letterbox mode.
I have sky digital and would like to know your thoughts on the best ways to view programming. At the moment I have it set to auto mode which means it changes from widescreen 16:9 to 4:3 with black bars on both sides when watching non-widescreen programming on the likes of MTV or Sky News.
If you have a widescreen TV do you:
1) Leave yours permanently in 16:9 and stretch normal programmes to fit.
2) Have it on auto and put up with the bars which I am currently doing.
There are other setting like 14:9, cinema and Zoom are these worth bothering with?
