Hi
I am new to this forum, but from what i can see its looks great. I left Shrewsbury 8 years ago but come back every other month normal, but I am living in the US at the mo so have not been back for one year now. I hear that Shrewsbury has got an new huge Tesco, but i can't find one photo of it does anyone have one? Thanks for the help!

Does it not open in a few weeks time?

Clic thisThe store opens at the end of April. I happen to know the architect. I might add planners need to take a leaf out of Tecscos book who attempt to promote energy saving. What would it take to put a few solar panels or light saving glass in some of the buildings being constructed currently? Not just on council buildings but make it a standard requirement.
That link you put on doesnt open with me David !

The Tesco giant marches on,we use Lidl now,but i cant for the life of me understand why Lidl chose to open their new store opposite the Tesco store, and will this giant affect Morrisons, and all the others ,also the town centre.

Lidl like Netto is a discount store not a supermarket and can therefore make money a different way to supermarkets. Although some products are consistent many are first come basis. :)

I think most people who want to shop at a supermarket do so already, those who buy groceries at the market, their local butchers and Appleyards and other delis obviously feel strongly enough about that to avoid the lure of the supermarkets currently and are unlikely to be tempted by a bigger Tesco in my opinion.
I think it's more likely they'll take customers off Sainsburys, Asda and Morrissons.
