I have just moved to Shrewsbury and love the place. My husband and i are keen anglers and have just purchased a council license, but we are unsure of all the places we may fish. I did find a map of council stretches but found it a little scetchy, so can anyone help?

We were walking along the Monkmoor stretch this evening and are a little worried by all the rubbish, some of it has obviously been left by anglers as there was many meat tins and such like. Is thers a group of people dedicated to cleaning up the rubbish? Is there anyone who feels the same as I do and would like to do something about the problem? First clean up job would fill a large skip as I spoted a duvet (?), air bed, bottles, cans, BBQ's, plastic bags any anything else you care to mention.It's such a shame and it's terrible to see the swans and ducks swiming around in the mess.
