I'd rather the Queen stood down and we saved the cash by becoming a republic instead.
However, given the somewhat robust views of most of the regulars on these forums, I don't think I'll have many supporters!

I'd leave the country. Having politicians invade the position and role of Head of State would further wreck this already nearly destroyed nation of ours.
And no, she isn't selfish. She's doing her job. Being monarch is a job for life. And anyway, who'd you rather have - Queen Elizabeth or King Charles? I know which one is more popular.
Here's to King William V though! God Save the (future) King! :D

I'm not a royalist by any means but given the choice of The Queen staying or giving up the throne to Charles; my opinion is that the Queen should stay because I think Charles is a waste of space (bear in mind this is only my opinion here)
in theory a republic is a good idea but you have to ask the question do you trust any of the political parties to be reliable enough to represent us as our head of state?
