Title: Shops Are The New Religion

avronb - April 14, 2006 01:09 PM (GMT)
Today,Good Friday,my wife decided to light a candle in St Marys church Shrewsbury in remembrance of her father who died twelve months ago,so we went up town where all the shops were open, but when we arrived at the church the doors were bolted, this just about sums up todays society to me.

I'm afraid it does, there is not even any Easter films on television today.

There used to be at least one back a few years ago on Good Friday, ah sorry don't mention religion "Bank Holiday Friday"!.

It the way things are going and I'm sure it will get worse.

So Happy DIY weekend everyone...

I agree also - it's sad but true.
I think we're fast becoming a nation of shallow, self absorbed, consumer drones.... and the corporate and political elites just love it,

This nation is in such trouble. Add to how Redsquirrel describes this nation the swathes of chavs, celebritiy culture (*shudder*) and the general disregard for anything people have. And the annoying thing? Things can be done about it, people like ourselves know this, but nothing is done.
