Originally posted in the Shrewsbury Chat section this thread now stands on its own. It started off when Proud Salopian mentioned that the Shrewsbury Model centre now only sells train sets :D

I used to have a Hornby 00 guage layout when I was a kid.In fact my mum has still got the trains in her attic somewhere.Unfortunately my own lads don't seem the slightest bit interested in model railways, otherwise I'd build another layout at my house -shame really.
Curse that damn Playstation!

Me too R.S.,N gauge is the best for a small area,a good alternative is CREATE YOUR OWN MODEL RAILWAY on PC cd rom,£10 from Morrisons, add scenery, loco sounds, place camera on loco, endless fun ,how come us blokes never grow up?

As requested this topics has now been moved to its own thread here in General Chat

Hi Chris/Proud Salopian
Is it possible to get the posts about model railways off (St Johns Hill Methodist Church) onto the heading Model Railways, there must be more enthusiasts like us out there who would never think of looking under that title for anything to do with model railways.

I have a 00 gauge railway at home, though as I'm 2/3 of the time here in Manchester it's really mothballed at the moment.

Shrewsbury Model Centre, for anyone who is thinking "they've disappeared!" has moved out of town to Battlefield. Their website is:

http://www.shrewsburymodels.co.uk

The business has become internet orientated, though you can still visit their shop which is just off Knights Way, Battlefield Enterprise Park. Also they now sell only model railway stuff, so that's an added bonus. :)
