Title: Smoking Ban In All Pubs And Clubs
shrewsbury.shrew - February 15, 2006 09:17 AM (GMT)
Last night MPs voted by a huge margin to ban smoking in all public places like pubs, cinemas, offices, factories, public transport and so on in England from the summer of 2007.

Personally I'm pleased with the ban but I'm concerned for some businesses like smaller public houses and restaurants whose business may suffer.

Not sure about this one really. Half of me thinks, yes, this is good for the nation's health and other half of me thinks 'nanny State'.

I agree with the ban in public places but not in pubs and clubs. Apart from pubs that serve food, I smoke but I wouldnt like to eat in a smoky pub. I live in Wales so we are not affected yet but Ive noticed alot of places have turned non-smoking already.

Just a thought but how will this affect nightclubs, doormen are stressed enough without people going out for a ciggy every minute.....

Still not sure where I stand on this one, -but how exactly will it be enforced on such a mass scale ?-it could lead to quite alot of aggro.

I have never smoked in my life, but i dont have a problem with people smoking as long as the air con. can cope and i am not having a meal,my father died of lung cancer and he never smoked,i find the biggest whingers are the ex smokers.
