Title: R.e Deleted Threads

Redsquirrel - February 13, 2006 09:28 PM (GMT)
Fair enough Chris, you're the boss. However it must be noted that the subject matter of the two deleted threads (one started by Andy, the other by myself) although sometimes seen as controversial, are topics that many people have strong opinions about - and looking at the amount of views that both threads got, people in Shrewsbury have just as much interest in these topics as people anywhere else in the country.
The comments and opinions from people from all sides were sensible, honest and where possible, backed up by proof.

Could please define the "limits" on topics and comments a little clearer please? -as this, I think, would help everyone here, yourself included.

Thanks
Karl

Just wanted you to know that I think we've beat the Islam thing over the head long enough, too. Yes, we're entitled to our opinions. Yes, this is a good place for people to be able to vent those opinions openly, and anonymously, if they feel they need to so.
But I think all of us who are going to throw in have already done so, and in abundance. So, moving on........

Well Im a little disapointed about that, what happened to freedom of speech! Anyway I cant see why you couldnt lock the thread instead of deleting it, it seems as though-yet again we are stopped from having an opinion. And as Redsquirrel said honest and sensible points were made, I dont see anything offensive to be honest. But thats just my 2 pence worth. Its all about being PC once again. I agree this is a forum for Shrewsbury conversation but in that case there shouldnt be a off-topic thread, and it actually kept people coming back as they felt they could vent here, never mind.

Thanks for your comments it was not an easy decision, I do want to keep the forum an open place for discussion, but at the same time I'm trying to please everyone.

That's the first time I have every had to remove posts and I did think about it at length.

We have a great little community here and long may that continue :)

I think Chris is a very moderate moderator compared to the BBC forums,if you say boo to a goose they will pull the plug on you,and if you want more proof that this subject is popular just look at the number of views.
And a word of warning Karl,Kat is coming to the UK soon, could end up like High Noon, with you being ridden out of town, holed up in them thar hills(Stiperstones),and as it happens there is a gun club up there,so i would take a few lessons if i were you,i also think it might be a good idea to swear Chris in as sheriff to keep a lid on things,so Chris, are you going to pull those pistols or whistle dixie.
Test ya all now, which film did the above come from??

LOL ! You could be right there Brian.Just hope she doesn't manage to smuggle her six shooters through customs.- It could even end up like a scene from "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" -and no, I ain't going to say who's who.
Just hope my days in the TA can stand me in good stead. - No, not shooting -I was one of the worst shots in the battalion. I'm talking camouflage and concealment here!
