What are your views on Telford?,I lived in Ironbridge and Coalbrookdale for about 15 yrs.back in the 70s before moving to S.bury,so i have seen life on both sides of the fence so to speak,i was born between Atcham and Crosshouses,and my parents were from South Shropshire,so therefore i can never ever take sides in any Telford vs.Shrewsbury debate.
I see Telford and Shrewsbury as the two big towns of Shropshire, which are on par in terms of influence and importance, but are completely different in their character. I much prefer Shrewsbury, simply because it's not a series of housing estates and retail parks connected with roundabouts and dual-carriageways! :P
Pre-Telford places such as Ironbridge, Dawley etc are great - some nice pubs out there too.
But Telford new town? .. no comment!
