I have to say that I'm a Radio Shropshire listener. No adverts, more local news and events, etc.

Radio Shropshire - for traffic and school news, the occasional interesting story, and the horror of being woken up by what sounds like a real life Alan Partridge.

Yeah.
The only gripe I have about Radio Shropshire is Jim bloody Hawkins.
The man's a raving idiot.

Being a bit of a metalhead, neither really grab me in the way of tunes. -I used to listen to Beacon years ago when they played a wider selection of music. These days it's mainly RnB or bubble gum pop.
Radio Shropshire's playlist is pretty poor too, although Jim 'bloody' Hawkins does an ok rock show on Sunday night.
Quite a few people find Jim Hawkins a turn off. He can come across rude and abrupt on his talk show - I agree.
I'll give his due though - he does play devil's advocate rather well and he'll debate subjects that many presenters seem too frightened to touch -So I suppose Jimbo deserves a brownie point or two for that - especially as works for the BBC (Blair's Brainwashing Corporation).

Everyone has their favourite and not so favourite presenters, I think all our local stations and presenters do a great job.
On most phone in type shows presenters say things to provoke a reaction which is the whole point of the show.
If a talk presenter was nice to every caller then it would be a pretty boring show!

Yeah but Jim Hawkins has the added irritating property of not actually knowing what he's talking about!!

We listen to Radio Shropshire 96 FM, on the computer. My husband is constantly harrassing poor Rob Underwood with emails (sorry, Rob)
