Hi everyone
PIcked up the Shrewsbury Times today,(Sun).and saw a picture of the old market hall,i used to come into town on the train from Berrington with my grand mother,i had my hair cut in one of the barber shops in the market,then a custard bun in the cafe,she then did most of the weeks shopping there in the market hall,no need for lifts,everything was on the same level.The old market was one of the most elegant buildings in town,it was brought down and replaced by that concrete memorial to the sixties we have now,half off wich now lies empty,as do the galleries,acsess is denied to a lot of elderly people because they cant climb the stairs and are too affraid to use the lifts,which are always breaking down.
Going back to the Severn Valley railway,does anyone remember usung it in BR days?
