Is anyone going to be watching the new series of Doctor Who which starts at 7:00pm on BBC1 this Saturday?
I've never been into Doctor Who or any type of Sci-Fi, but with all the hype I'll be tuning in this weekend.

I've never really been into Dr Who either but I liked the one off that they made a few years back, a new series sounds interesting, shame that I missed it.
Its on again tonight at 19:00 on BBC3 so I will watch it and see what its like.

As I said in my first post I'm not a fan of this type of programme but after watching last night I will be watching the rest of the series.
Its seems others enjoyed it to with the programme beating Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

It's the first series of the new Dr Who episodes. The nineth doctor (the guy you are watching) "dies" right at the end though, so the next series has a new (tenth) doctor. And that series will be out next Spring. Before that though there's a Christmas special.

it is the first season starring christopher eccleston. We have seen all of the series in the UK and it keeps getting better and better.
If you have had it for 6 weeks then I take it that you have seen the return of the Daleks.
Season two will see a new doctor because christoper eccleston has (unfortunatly) left the series and is to be replaced by David Tennant in "the Christmas Invasion" which is due for broadcast at Chrismas.
The
BBC Website has all of the information on Dr Who however it does contain many many spoilers so only have a look if your cant wait for the episodes.

NO FAIR! I heard about the new Dr. Who series, but we only get BBC America. At least we can catch Monty Python and Black Adder. Who would have guessed that Hugh Laurie would be so popular in the states someday?

My kids loved watching the recent Dr Whos - but it didn't seem to scare them at all. I've seen one or two myself and they ain't too bad - some pretty good SFX.
Kids today must be alot more desensitized to that kind of thing - The old Tom Baker episodes had me hiding behind the sofa, everytime some bloke wrapped in tin-foil shuffled into view. - and that was when I was watching last year's re-runs on UK Gold.
