I just found out that Beacon Radio have pulled the plug in shropshire. They kept that one quiet didn't they?

I gave up with Beacon Radio years ago when they axed the excelent and very entertaining Ian Perry late night phone in show,I believe Perry now works fpr radio shropshire but what a silly move by Beacon again they will loose out.

Most commercial radio stations. including Shrewsburys 'Severn'(cant find the tounge in cheek smiley) are restructuring I think! The Severn are long gone as a 'local' radio station for Shrewsbury. I wonder why Shrewsbury has little luck in having a commercial radio station in the town?

It can't have cost them much to broadcast Beacon Shropshire! After all, the studios for Beacon Shrophire are in the same building in Wolverhampton as Beacon Wolverhampton.

I enjoy Radio Shropshire also with the exception of one presenter who bullies people who disagree with his pro Labour Politically Correct views,it is an excelent station with many facinating programmes well done Radio Shropshire.

I wonder which presenter you're referring to! When I do listen which isn't that often I usually catch the evening and late night shows because I am five hours behind. Never heard Beacon and used to listen a bit to the Severn when it debuted.

Talking of radio, I'm currently running a temporary radio station in Shrewsbury for the Shrewsbury Flower Show.

We are on air until Midnight on Saturday across central Shropshire with 87.7 Buzz FM - The Sound of Summer.

Whilst its not a fully featured radio station we have live programming from 7am - 7pm.

Find out more and listen on-line at: http://www.shrewsburyflowershow.org.uk/buzzfm
