Title: Calling All Anarchists !
Description: Shrewsbury Heckler !

jollyjohn - April 29, 2010 06:49 PM (GMT)
Is anyone aware of the "Hereford Heckler"? Its a free anarchist newspaper produced and distributed by volunteers and now has a circulation of 10,000. I have been writing articles for them and am now casting about looking to start a Shrewsbury Heckler. Google Hereford Heckler or Hereford Solidarity League to find online versions of it.......hope to hear back from anyone in the shropshire area keen on activism revolution and rebellion !!!!

Why do we need anarchy?

Because as the last election proves, this system changes nothing and is corrupt and out of date. :D

But what is the answer?

Perhaps the answer is for people to seize control of their own lives and sideline politicians completely.local post office/pub closing ? Take control and run it for everyones benefit. It worked in Barcelona in the thirties.the posh hotels were turned into canteens for workers and thier families, the rooms being used as hospital rooms. Anarchy does not mean no rules just no rulers. If common consent is achieved then it can work. It just means identifying more closely with the people where you live and where you work and taking time to work for the good of all as well as for you and yours. I do think that given the chance and a lack of need then people can be trusted to be decent as long as thier needs are catered for.......blimey....rant over! :D

This may be of interest. Not left wing by any means.the left just whinge on and on about how its not fair etc,oh poor oppressed us,I,m for more direct action, nothing to do with voting at all! :D

Certainly different, personally I would just like honest political parties with honest politicians who serve us not the other way around.
I admit to being totally disilusioned with all main stream parties Ibelieve the next election could begin their demise.

I dont think there is such a thing any more as a principaled politician.Moral standards have declined and now we have a "me first" society that leaves no room for generosity. We need to remember our past whene we all pulled together in adversity. The trouble is that nowadays we are all out for ouselves. It may take a disater or a war for us to remember who we are.We are a basically a nation to whom fairness and free speech have always been part of the national character,we are at our best in a crisis and have always been suspicious of our rulers, perhaps the future is not so bleak! We have come through all sorts of crises and calamaties before and no matter what the EU does it cannot change the truth of who we are and our natural character will stay as it always has no matter what any fools in suits do with the rules.A Frenchman knows who he is and his national identity is nothing to do with petty rules or politicians, well, same here! :D

Well now you are talking along what I believe in When Gordon Brown signed the Lisbern treaty and betrayed Britain and its people I vowed never to vote for these Traitors again, that is why I have joined UKIP and become an activist for them.
I do believe we need a government but I favour genuine referendums on all major policy changes and issues.
What we have now and what we had before are nothing other then dictatorships pulling in the oposite direction to witch most want.

But who would fund the medicines for the hospital rooms? Who would fund the repair of the buildings? Power?

It looks to be a short term deal...

I do not believe we could survive without a structured society, laws, taxes etc whilst I am no lover of what we have now or had before Anarchy would cause chaos and bloodshed.

I am an ex Shrewsbury teenager from back in the 1960s. I have lived in Herefordshire now for forty years. They must be keeping the Hereford Heckler under wraps because it does not seem to have traveled as far as Bromyard, all 14 miles.
If it comes out of Herefordshire I would not expect it to be an earth shattering publication.Herefordians are even slower than Salopians when it comes to getting their act together.
Jollyjohn you forgot to add what Barcelona looked like and the crimes perpetrated on it citizens when General Franco and his Army had finished with it. Anarchists have never been popular people because no one has ever understood what they stand for. Society likes order, so much so they even vote for control freaks like Adolf Hitler or even Tony Blair.
My generation had a chance to change things but the Thatcher years polarized opinion , the wheels fell of the wagon and we failed miserably.
Its good to see free speech still alive and well in Shrewsbury.

I shall be going to a meeting tonight,Iwill mention Bromyard as I know at least some of Leominster is covered. Its all done by hand so its pot luck if your street gets done or not. But,there are more every month so fingers crossed,eh? I did my teenage time in Hereford and now live in Shrewsbury, but its no hassle to go to the meeting once a fortnight.....they are in a good pub!!!! B)
I'm off to sunny Spain for a fortnight tomorrow....fair comment on the aftermath of Franco's victory....it was all a foretaste of what was to come....I was inspired as a teenager to look into it all by meeting two veterans of the international brigades, one an old wino type in Hereford who when you got him talking was well articulate and colourful, the other a retired teacher who was equally interesting. then in '77 I was 15 and punk happened! says it all really ....doomed to a life of small rebellions and frustration at the hideous unfairness of the society we live in....things are changing now though, now more and more "straight" people cannot help but agree that politicians have at last shown themselves as they really are....parasitic treacherous greedy immoral bastards who dont deserve a vote...any of 'em!!!!

Wellingtonian - July 6, 2010 08:33 AM (GMT)
I just missed punk. I left school at 16 in 1973 and by 1977 I had a very responsible job (looking after the safety of junior colleagues) so it passed me by. :)
