Title: Hi-viz Jogging Army
Description: menace

Does any one think that the Hi-Viz joggers running all over town are a threat to health and safety? They run around in packs on the pavement, crossing roads and junctions nearly every night of the week, some not wearing hi-viz tops (depending which night) i think its dangerous to run on the pavement. I nearly got "knocked" down by a couple the other evening, its just as bad as riding a bike on the footpath. Why not use a floodlit track or empty car park?

Yeah! it must be un-healthy running across roads without looking, on and off the kerb without a thought of what might be coming up the road or passing a pub and not having a most refreshing drink or two.

...Roy ..not a jogger but appreciate all road users rights, even if they annoy you.

You make a very good point. They can be just as dangerous as pavement cyclists. If not more so.

I think that they are from the Shropshire Shufflers. From someone I know who is a member, many runners find it motivational to be part of an organised group - it can be very easy to avoid exercise this time of year if you don't have someone pushing you. They do a lot of their running in the Quarry, but do choose different places, so as to keep up the interest.

In the summer, when there is more light and the ground is drier, they run in the countryside a lot more, but in the winter there aren't many good places to run in the dark evenings, other than the streets.
