Title: Road Salt Shortage
Description: Be prepared!!

I e-mailed SCC today asking when they were going to grit my local country road on a bus route, this has been gritted for many years now until it seems for the last few days.
The reply I got from SCC was that they apologuised but there was now a ''national grit shortage'' :D and they were having to ration this. Considering that there is a local salt mine not 20 miles away are they 'pulling the wool' abit?
It would be interesting to find out what their legal obligation was to keep the roads clear and safe. Why is that this country falls apart when we have freezing conditions, poor management it seems in this case?

Perhaps then they need to take heed clearly none of these managers are good boy scouts. Seldom do pubs run out of beer, bakers run out of bread. They have summer to prepare for these events .Bah humbug! :D Telling the truth yes, managing the situation, no !

Whilst in the course on my work saw a council gritter in Bayston Hill this evening charging around all over but i'm sure NO gritt/salt was coming out of the spreading/hopper(?) device at the back

I'm sure i saw a quad bike pulling a trailer full of road gritt/salt in the town earlier today  was i seeing things?

No, i saw it again today, the trailer was a mini gritt spreader pulled by a green quad bike. :)

Also, it might be best if drivers of gritter wagons are told to keep their speed down. Someone was roaring along at well over 30mph and all the grit/salt was flying out at speed and landing in gardens on the roadside!
