Title: Head Scarf For The Queen

What do you all think about the queen having to wear a head scarf while visiting a mosque in Turkey?we have to abide by their rules, but it does not seem to be a reciprocal thing.

When in Rome. I cant see a problem with that Avronb
I was at a party the other night and introduced to a colleauges wife, a muslim lady. I reached across to give the traditional British hug and peck on the cheek when my colleague, her husband said '' no Andy you cant touch her'' To my amazement he then embraced my wife in an introductory peck on the cheek and an embrace where is equality there then?

The Queen often wears a head scarf so no problem there.
People from different backgrounds have different customs and taboos even when they are from the same country.
Andy wrote "I reached across to give the traditional British hug and peck on the cheek".
I would only contemplate doing this with a personal friend and then on a special occasion and never with a stranger. Just goes to show how diverse we are.

Old Codger I wouldnt go to France if I was you there all at it, and you have to give a customery peck on both cheeks and embrace. Its ironic you say this because they say british people are very reserved Its a euro thing I guess, but then again you cant touch the queen either, supposidly.

The Queen has visited mosques before, and been duly respectful as appropriate on each occasion. No-one apart from avronb appears to have a problem with it. I wonder what his/her motivation was, and whether they're disappointed to find everyone else is so tolerant.
