I was watching one of those police camera type programmes the other night (I'm not sure why I do because they always wind me up). A guy stole a car, was caught red handed, on video, resisted arrest, was drunk and on drugs, assaulted the arresting officer, smashed up the police van and then assaulted more officers inside the police station. At the end of the programme they said he'd received a 4 month jail term.

The following day a guy is convicted of selling fake autographs of sports men and women. He received a 30 month jail term.

Yup, stupid I know. There are loads of examples out there of the judicial system simply not working. And the police aren't much better...
