http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7304004.stmI remember watching the film 2001:A Space Odyssey when it was shown in town forty years ago and talking about it with friends over several pints as we tried to work out what it all meant. Never did agree except that it was an awesome film.
Its the only film i have seen that depicts space as it really is,and thats silent,the special effects were at least 20 yrs ahead of the time.I too saw it at the Granada in 70mm aspect i think it was,i dont think we have advanced that far in cinemas,some tvs are almost as big as the screens at Cineworld.
