My wife and I are planning on visiting Shrewsbury next year. Not sure if this forum answers travel related questions, but I thought I would give it a try.

First, I read about the Shrewsbury Hotel in the Camra Beer, Bed and Breakfast Guide. I found two lukewarm reviews on tripadvisor. I was curious as to whether or not it was a decent place to stay. Clean? Friendly? Would the Ye Old Bucks Head mentioned in an earlier post be better for tourists? I haven't found many reviews of either, nor have I found pictures posted.

Second, is there a good objective source for Shrewsbury restaurant reviews?

Can't really help with B&B/Hotel recommendations or with regard to restaurant guides but we personally have had meals at The Golden Cross, The Cornhouse and Cromwells in Shrewsbury and The Mytton & Mermaid at Atcham . I hear that Traitor's Gate and La Lanterna in Shrewsbury are good.
