| Happy Honica! |
Who?
Andy Cooke - December 26, 2007 10:20 PM (GMT)
It is actually spelled Hanukkah and it is a Jewish Holiday.
Around 200 BC Jews lived as an autonomous people in the Land of Israel, also referred to as Judea, which at that time was controlled by the Seleucid king of Syria. The Jewish people paid taxes to Syria and accepted its legal authority, and they were free to follow their own faith, maintain their own jobs, and engage in trade. I think personally the 'true' meaning of Christmas is sometimes forgotten

I'm well aware of what Hanukka is. But not Honica. I'm glad you finally learnt to spell.

Not too many 48 year old men get a basketball goal for Christmas, but....Also, for the first time in my life, I believe, I did not receive any article of clothing. Got some DVDs and CDs. I now have all of the original Beatles' studio work. Also,....got the Monty Python TV Series. I have wanted that for years, but it was too expensive until now. Who's next?

Just trying to bring attention to commercialism Chingwakabungya. This is the season of good will so I wont criticise your knowledge. Honika is a celebrated mass and is slang just as we say 'Xmas' By the way you misspelt Hanukkah in your response

I don't say "Xmas"... I'm not a fan of slang. What's worse is "textspeak". And spelling Hannukkah wrong pales in comparison to what I just did - Managed to forget my password for this forum... Well, I used to be permanently signed in on my old computer...
