Hello people, first off let me apologize for making my first post a request.
I'm trying to find some information, on behalf of a friend, about Samuel Harley.
He was a clockmaker from Salop. operating in 18th century. I know that this isn't a lot of information but, apart from a long case clock, which my friend dates as 1750-1760, he hadn't heard of him.
My friend is a complete technophobe and I'm hoping that finding this information for him will make him less so.
Thank you in advance for any help that you may be able to give tome.
Welcome to the Forum.
One Samuel Harley, watchmaker and goldsmith, was mayor of Shrewsbury in 1784.

Thanks for the quick response.
I've passed on the information, apparently I've found out more in a few days than my mate has in weeks. Any other information gratefully received.
Very interesting site on the old mayors of Shrewsbury OC, i see that in 1989-90 during the mayorship of Vincent Evason one of the more notable events apart from the Berlin Wall coming down was the renaming of Marathon to Snickers{tm}
