Title: Recommended B&b/guest Houses

sambradh - December 7, 2007 10:51 PM (GMT)

Hi

I'm soon to be relocating to Shrewsbury in the New Year. I'm going to be visiting prior to starting work to arrange accommodation etc.
Could anyone recommend a reasonably priced guest house or B & B, i shall need to be close to the centre so that i can visit letting agents etc.

Thank you in advance.

This pub's less than ten minutes from the centre. Good food and there's parking.

Worth getting hold of a copy of the weekly Shrewsbury Chronicle when you start looking for a place to rent. There's 56 pages of properties for sale and to let this week.

Places to stay - lots. I can't think of any specifically to recommend, but areas like Coton Hill, Frankwell (where the Bucks Head above is) and Abbey Foregate are the main areas of B&Bs near the town centre.

And yes, as the old codger says, buy the Shrewsbury Chronicle when looking for properties to buy or rent. It's a weekly paper, which publishes on Thursdays (though you can buy throughout the week at all newsagents). Some weeks the property section is larger than the rest of the paper!

Hi,

We stayed at the Anton on Canon Street on Monday night as our furniture didn't arrive until Tuesday. It was very nice and the lady who runs it, Louise, was a very cheery sort.

Hope that helps,
Schizoidgal.
