Gosh, that is a lot of phones. Maybe the council should give us all an orange wheelie bin for recycling mobiles.
Actually Tescos do recycyle them and they give you 500 ' green points' for every phone you give them. Thats five pounds in value. At the side of the new tescos there is a re-cycling plant which also gives you green points for your rubbish.
I live in a small community and our local electronics store collects old mobiles. They are then given to the local Family Crisis Center, a shelter for abused women and children.
We bought a cheap mobile on our holiday. We ended up giving it to a hotel receptionist in London. It would be useless in the States and she said she could find a fellow college student who could use it.
