Someone did mention a driving instructor from Shawbury a while back but I can't seem to find the post. What's the going rate now and can you get any deals if you book a few lessons?
I know that the insurance is astronomical for young drivers but I believe the test is going to be made much harder and more in line with Germany in the near future so I want my son and daughter to get on with it!

I took my test in Shrewsbury about 26 years ago and used the Severn School of Motoring for lessons who more of than not didn't turn up. :(

I can highly recommend Gareth at Mini Drive. I'm a nervous learner and he has helped me become a really confident driver. Based in Shrewsbury, but covering other areas, lessons are about £20 and they do some good deals.

My instructor was called Dave Williams, was only £17 per lesson, and I passed first time after less than 25 lessons, but he's based in Newport/Telford, not Shrewsbury.

Mine was called Audrey Johnson based in Whitchurch and she charged £6.50 per lesson I passed my test on the second attempt. I had 12 lessons in total

I also know of another, my friend's dad (name Anthony Pym) is another in the Shrewsbury area, I think he's based in Oswestry, but lives in Melverley.
