Hi all I am not local but I hope you dont mind me posting on here.

I have read about the fight your local people put up when the POffice was planning to move into WHSmith and although you didnt win in the end it wasnt through lack of effort.

A similar move is now planned in my town, Runcorn, however futile the opposition may be we wont go down without a fight.

So I am asking if you wouldnt mind telling me how things have gone since the move happened. Was it as bad as you thought it would be and how has the service changed for better of worse.

Any information is much appreciated.

Haven't noticed any difference personally.

I suspect people now think about using other post offices in the Shrewsbury area instead of using the one in WH Smiths. It's smaller than the old one and I suspect queues do form. But then again, they did in the old one.

I have been in there on one occasion and it seemed OK. That was fairly late on a Saturday afternoon.

However I mainly use the Sentinel Gardens post office on Whitchurch Road.
