Thought I would start a new quiz where I give a description of "where I am" and you have to guess (well, an educated guess) which village - in Shropshire - I am at.
So, here goes...
I am amongst the hills of South Shropshire, near to the small town of Craven Arms. I have come here by train, though the station is in the neighbouring village. On my way here I passed a pub with a name that would please railway enthusiasts. The village I am now at has its own pub though, with an unusual name. There's also a special tree here, though I am not at the right time of year to see it with its traditional decoration.
Where am I? Three guesses maximum from each member please! :D
Correct. :)
Bit of an easy one that - too many clues! Another one on its way then...
The neighbouring village with the railway station is Broome and there you will find the Engine and Tender pub on the road to Aston. In Aston itself is the Kangaroo pub. The tree is an Arbor Tree and it is decorated with flags on 29th May, a tradition which many more villages across England once did.
