Hi i understand that Churncote Farm has a popular farm shop but i wonder if someone knows if it is still a working farm as a brother of my grt grt grandfather owned Churncote Farm(the name of the brother was John William Cooke) for quite a while.

I like to find out about the areas my mums Cooke rellies lived in Shropshire not just facts.

they are still farming there,possibly on a smaller scale,the shop has been built in the old cowshed.

I am a Cooke but not from farming stock. I know however of more Cookes who are farmers around the Market Drayton area !

Thank you for the replies. I find it fascinating at what the farms are like now.

Andy my Cooke families originated from Ellesmere and all moved to various places in Shropshire. Apart from a few cousins my mum kept in contact with we dont know where the other family members are. Some were farmers, 2 worked in Ellesmere one owned A drapers shop which became part of a pub after the 1940,s and the other was a maltster.

There was also a lot of Cooke families from Mydle.
